Yoxfield, Suffolk

Standing near to the church, this old cast-iron signpost points the way to London and Framlingham. The sign is set high enough to be seen by the driver of a stagecoach.

The Griffin inn has an interesting history and probably dates from the 1500s. That history includes a spell as a local manor and was also reputedly a haunt for 18th century smugglers and also a ghost.

You have to look twice at this house for all is not as it appears. The postman must get quite confused!

A lovely old cottage in the village.
