The Birmingham Symphony Orchestra recognised as one of the finest in the world perform a regular season in the classical Roman-inspired Town Hall built by Joseph Hansom of hansom cab fame.
There are no fewer than 6,000 acres of parkland and open space in Birmingham, Cannon Hill Park in Edgbaston in one particular highlight. It has 80 acres of flower and ornamental gardens. Also the Botanical Gardens comprise 15 acres and boast a Tropical House with lily pond.
The Birmingham Nature Centre has British and European wildlife - including wallaby, fallow deer, otters and reptiles.
