Stradbroke, Suffolk

Stradbroke is a thriving village situated in the heart of Suffolk, unlike many other villages in Suffolk that are losing there post offices and shops Stradbroke has still retained hers and has no fewer than three public houses. The church dominates the centre of the village and is surrounded by some lovely old cottages. Around the outside of the village more modern housing has been built along with a swimming pool and community centre and other sports facilities.

The village sign depicts Robert Grosseteste, Stradbroke’s most famous son who was born into a poor family here in 1168 and later went on to become Bishop of Lincoln in 1235.

The Ivy House, one of the three pubs in the village and by far the prettiest.
