Modbury, South Australia

Modbury is part of the Tea Tree City municipality in the foothills to the Adelaide Hills. It is a delightful part of the metropolitan area, radiating out from the north-eastern fringes of the extraordinary Linear Park - a 20km green belt that flanks the Torrens River all the way to the city and southern beaches. This marvellous recreational strip is rich in walking and cycling tracks and picnic areas.

Tea Tree is also connected to the centre of Adelaide by the O-Bahn, an express bus route which cuts travelling time for city commuters to 20-minutes. The bus goes from travelling on a normal road to running along a specially built track as the photo above clearly shows.

The town takes great pride in its history which is recorded in the Heritage Park precinct in Tea Tree Gully. The natural beauty and resort villages of the Adelaide Hills are all within comfortable driving distance, while the Tea Tree municipality offers 800ha of open space and parkland with their attendant walking trails and relaxing picnic corners. The council supports a number of annual community celebrations including the Civic Park Spectacular, which combines a trade fair with a battle of the bands (March) and the Spring Fair that provides local artists and crafts people to display and sell their wares (October).
