Bramford, Suffolk

Bramford is situationed about 10 miles from the spreading tentacles of Ipswich which has almost dragged this growing community into the borough but the village stubbornly holds on to its separate identity. It is certainly worth-while to do so for it is a very attactive spot which retains an aura of old-style self-dependence.

Close by St Mary's Church runs the sluggish river Gipping. It was once an important stop on the river route when barges from Ipswich stopped to unload corn; the walls of the old lock are still visible.

In the vicinity is Suffolk Water Park where the lake welcomes canoeists and wind surfers.
