![]() Probably Britain's liveliest and most popular resort certainly it is a place that everyone in the country has heard of even if they do not know where it is. Blackpool like it or loath it is definitely an experience. A typical British resort with piers, funfair's, gardens, amusement arcades and a promenade although they all appear much bigger here not even the rather wet northwest coast weather is able to dampen the spirits of the many who flock here for their two weeks holiday or just for a day out by the sea.
It is hard to believe that just over 150 years ago Blackpool was little more than a fishing village among the sand dunes of the Fylde coast. At that time travel to and from the village involved considerable discomfort taking a day from Manchester and two days from York. |
