The Pleasure Beach which boasts its own railway station is an attraction that continues to be extended and improved. Home to the tallest, fastest and possibly the most expensive roller coaster ride in the world, some of its delights are not for the fainthearted.

Blackpool Tramways have provided a most enjoyable way of exploring these less busy sides the town and it environs for many years. And it should also be remembered that the world's first electric street tram systerm opened here in 1885. The route was extended along the Lytham road in 1895 and later connecting with other routes in nearby Lytham and St Anne's.

The now annual Illuminations which following a ceremonial lighting much like that of the Christmas lights in London is a splendid end to the season. An eagerly awaited free show running the full length of the promenade the lights have over the years provided many spectacular shows and incorporated many themes.
